Morgan Photo CompositeA digital photo-composite of a guitar neck stretching out in to the County Durham landscape like an abandoned railroad, this image was used in a number of marketing and print materials for one of the North East's brightest rising stars, Morgan.
The design was conceptualised as an illustration of Morgan's seemingly paradoxical passion for adventure and his enduring love of homeland County Durham; capturing the very essence of his music and spirit in a single image.
The background landscape was actually a composite of a number of black and white photographs taken by the artist himself to create an impression of the North East countryside as he sees it: Dramatic, full of energy and alive with heritage and tradition. The guitar neck was modeled separately in 3D and composited over the background image in Adobe Photoshop to complete the illustration.
The finished design has since been used across a number of mediums, from taking centre stage on the sleeve of Morgan's debut album The Boy From Anywhere to the subtle backdrop of his Aelius designed flash website. |
