Hadley School MasterplanThis hand-rendered landscape masterplan was commissioned by North East Landscape Architects Insite Environments. The masterplan was hand-painted, textured and airbrushed in Adobe Photoshop from CAD line drawings rendered at A0 size.
With more than 300 separate layers and a filesize of over 1.2GB, the finished illustration was then composited onto an aerial photograph of the existing site to show clients how the proposed scheme would work in the context of the surrounding area.
Masterplans like this are not only painted to scale for technical applications, but they are also used as a selling tool in order to pitch a final design to developers.
This means that while the final render should look quite realistic, with the correct materials etc, they should also be illustrative and attractive from an aesthetic point of view. This particular masterplan was commissioned as part of a competition.
